Chelsea skipper Cezar Azpilicueta has broken silence for the first time since he suffered a worrying injury in the Premier League on Saturday.

Azpilicueta has now taken to social media to share a positive update regarding his injury.

The Chelsea ace shared a photo of himself from the hospital bed with the caption:

"Hi everyone! Thank you all for your love and messages of support! My family and I would like to thank everyone who has been looking after me since yesterday’s incident.

"From the Chelsea Football Club medical team, to teammates and opponents, to St Mary’s and Cleveland Hospital and all staff members and doctors: a massive thank you from the bottom of my heart.
"Now, time to recover and I will see you soon on the pitch," he added.

Chelsea won't sack Potter

Earlier, Sports Brief reported the Chelsea board reportedly has no intention of sacking Graham Potter as manager despite the club's underwhelming run of results across competitions.

Potter has come under immense scrutiny since he succeeded Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge back in September.

The former Brighton boss has been unable to steady the ship at the club, with the Blues managing just one win 10 outings.
