  • Neymar could be offered a way out of Paris Saint-Germain, with Chelsea looking to sign him
  • Chelsea owners are said to be interested in looking at avenues of landing the Brazilian star
  • Neymar's wages and Chelsea's potential missing out on Champions League next season could be a hindrace

Chelsea are reportedly looking into the possibility of signing Neymar in the summer as the forward's future at Paris Saint-Germain remains mirred in confusion.

Neymar's time in Paris has come under sharp scrutiny in recent months after a sharp decline in form despite starting the season in blistering fashion.

GMS reports that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly met with PSG's President Nasser Al-Khellaifi last week, with reports suggesting that a potential sale of Neymar was among the things discussed.

It is understood that Boehly wanted to get the Brazilian as early as last summer, but a move failed to go through. It was the same summer where there was a reported falling out between Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, creating friction in the PSG dressing room.

Neymar's wages

One major interesting thing to look at will be Neymar's wages considering he earns an excess of 900,000 euros weekly with the French giants. Boehly's consortium hasn't been afraid to splash the top dollar for their new targets, having spent over 600 million euros so far in signings alone.

The world's most expensive footballer could be a solution to Chelsea's problems in front of goal under Graham Potter. However, with Chelsea poised to miss out on Champions League football next season, convincing the Brazilian star to move to Stamford Bridge could be a tall order.

Neymar's side

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Neymar looks certain to remain a Paris Saint-Germain player after the 2022/23 season despite numerous reports linking the Brazilian with a summer move.

The Brazilian winger has been a huge controversial figure at Parc des Princes and most recently clashed with PSG’s sporting director Luis Campos after the loss to Monaco.

Neymar intends to remain with PSG beyond this season despite and intends to snub any attempt to offload him out of the club.
