Former Super Eagles captain Jay-Jay Okocha has stated clearly that he would have loved to play in the Russian League before retiring from the game of football.
Okocha during his active playing days was one of the biggest footballers in Africa considering his styles of play most especially his excellent ways of dribbling on the pitch.
Despite his commanding styles of play on the pitch for the Super Eagles and all the clubs he played for, Okocha never won the African best player of the year award.
In total, Okocha played in Germany, France, England, and Qatar before calling quit on his career.

According to the report on Soccernet, the 49-year-old explained that no single club came for his services in the Russian League.
Statement made by Okocha
“Unfortunately, not a single Russian club has made me an offer in my entire career. I would love to play for the RPL club.
“I don’t know all the intricacies of your football, but I’ve heard a lot about the fans – many people told me that they are just crazy. I like such fans who scream throughout the match and inspire great performances.''
