Mikel Arteta pinpoints the errors that cost Arsenal against Man City
FootballGuardiola Spotted Kissing Jesus After Manchester City Beat Arsenal
- Pep Guardiola oversaw the sale of three Manchester City stars to rival clubs last summer
- Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko went to Arsenal and Raheem Sterling to Chelsea
- Recent events have shown there is no love lost between Guardiola and his former players
Rivalry and competitiveness aside, the match between Arsenal and Manchester City had too many friends to be as intense as it was last night, due to the relationship between the two squads.
However, everyone was fighting for the maximum points.
Mikel Arteta was Pep Guardiola's assistant manager at the Citizens for three years before he left to take the permanent role in the dugout of the Emirates Stadium, so he is familiar with most players.
Last summer, City sold Ukrainian defender, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Brazilian striker, Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal for a combined fee of £75 million, as reported by Mirror UK, while also receiving £50 mil from Chelsea for Raheem Sterling.

Guardiola shares moment with Jesus
Jesus is still recovering after surgery on the knee injury he suffered at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, but he was at the Emirates Stadium to support his teammates and catch up with old faces.
As reported by Daily Star, the 25-year-old spent five-and-half seasons under Guardiola and was spotted having a word with the Spanish manager after the match, after which the coach planted a kiss on his former striker's cheeks.
Despite City's win and ascension to the top of the Premier League table, Arsenal still holds an advantage with a game in hand. Jesus's return will be welcome news to Arteta, as he might need help in their title push for the remainder of the season.

FootballGuardiola slams his horrible tactics
Sports Brief earlier reported on Guardiola slamming his own tactics despite Man City beating Arsenal 3-1 to move to joint top of the Premier League table.
He started the game in an unusual 3-4-2-1 formation, utilising winger, Riyad Mahrez and attacker, Bernardo Silva as wing-backs, with Kyle Walker right of a back three.
This allowed Arsenal spaces to exploit behind the overlapping runs of the wingers, which the former Bayern Munich manager admitted almost cost them the game.
