Former Super Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr has disclosed that his recommendation helped Nigerian striker Terem Moffi secure a mega move to French giants Nice in the January transfer.
The German football manager claimed that those in charge of the French club contacted him and based on his working relationship with Moffi in the national team, he anointed him.
Before moving to Nice, there were reports that some Premier League clubs like West Ham United, Everton and Tottenham were interested in signing Moffi, but he snubbed them.
Nice were impressed with his performances at Lorient where he scored 12 goals this season before his departure.

What did Gernot Rohr say?
According to the report on Punch, Rohr made it clear that Moffi had seven offers in January before he decided to move to Nice.
Statement made by Rohr
“Some people at Nice asked me about him before this offer and I gave them my honest recommendation with a good conscience about him with regards to his qualities because he is very strong. Several clubs wanted to sign him. He had seven offers in January and I think it is a good move for him.”

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian international Terem Moffi attracted interest from English Premier League club West Ham United following his impressive performances for Ligue 1 side Lorient.
