The seventh tier of Belgian football was hit by the tragic passing of a goalkeeper, who collapsed during the game and was pronounced dead at the hospital at the age of only 25.
Arne Espeel was in action for Winkel Sport B against Westrozebeke when the incident happened.
His side was leading 2-1 and opponents were awarded a spot kick, which he heroically saved.
Espeel got up early and celebrated saving the penalty before he fell back, with medics rushing onto the field. The match was abandoned after he was declared dead.

Statement by Winkel Sport
The club confirmed the incident in a statement on the website via Mirror UK.
"Winkel Sport is in very deep mourning at the sudden passing of goalkeeper Arne Espeel," the statement read.
"We wish Arne's family and friends our heartfelt condolences at this heavy loss. Football is taking a back seat for some time."
As revealed by Sun UK, the incident happened in the presence of Espeel's parents, who were in the stands, as well as his brother, Aaron, who is also a member of the team.

The player, who came through Spurs' academy, was rescued unconscious after two boats collided before passing away the following day.
