Newcastle United made it two wins over two legs over Southampton, 3-1 on aggregate to proceed to the final of the Carabao Cup, their first major final since 1995 and the first under Saudi owners.

The Hollywood A-list actor Idris Elba was spotted in the director's box at Newcastle United's home stadium for their 2-1 win over Southampton, as he was picked up by Sky Sports cameras as noted by Sun UK.

As reported by Newcastle World, about 34,000 of the club fans could not get tickets to the match as there were too many in the queue for the bidding, which has sparked reactions from fans as to why a celebrity who is an Arsenal fan got in.

It is not the first time the actor, who is also a DJ, was spotted around a Premier League club or stadium. He attended an Arsenal FA Cup game in January 2022.

Jordan invests in Bournemouth

Sports Brief earlier reported that actor Michael B. Jordan invested in Premier League club Bournemouth and is part of the minority owners.

The club's takeover was completed by American businessman Mick Foley, who acquired 50.1% in December to become the majority owner.
