Neymar, who turned 31 on Sunday, had also been the recipient of the Samba d'Or in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2020, and 2021.

As noted by Samba Foot, Debinha Oliviera won the award for the best female Brazil player, while 16-year-old wonderkid Endrick Felipe was named the best Brazilian youngster.

Who did Neymar beat for the award?

Neymar beat off competition from Real Madrid stars Vinicius Junior, who won the La Liga and Champions League last year, Barcelona's Raphinha, Manchester United midfielder Casemiro and Chelsea veteran defender Thiago Silva.

How did Neymar fare in 2022

Neymar had an outstanding campaign for PSG last season, scoring 12 goals and registering 10 assists in 18 appearances for PSG last year in Ligue 1.

The Brazil No.10 was also instrumental for the South American giants during the Qatar World Cup.

He scored a brilliant goal against Croatia in the dying stage of the quarter finals, but Brazil had to bow out from the Mundial as the European side pulled off a last-gasp equaliser and eventually had the last laugh following tiebreakers.

Neymar declares love for Bruna

Brazilian superstar Neymar has publicly declared his love for beautiful model Bruna Biancardi as captured in a post on Instagram, Sports Brief earlier reported.

Daily Star reports that the Paris Saint-Germain star publicly showed his affection for the model for the first time since they have been dating.

The former Barcelona forward seems to have made up his mind and now wants to flaunt the beauty to the whole world, with an emotional message on Instagram to mark her 28th birthday.
