Manchester City have been hit by over 100 charges of financial breaches by the Premier League, covering the club's financial activities from 2009 up to the current year.
The charges will now be investigated further and could spell trouble for the club if found guilty, with punishments ranging from points deduction, fine or total expulsion from the league already considered.
City boss, Pep Guardiola's old comments on the matter have now resurfaced and they could spell even more trouble for the club, with his possible decision greatly affecting football and the club's earnings.

According to a statement released by the Premier League, it confirmed the investigation into the club's financial activities since 2009, coinciding with Sheikh Mansour's takeover of the club, had taken four years, as noted by Guardian.

The findings will now be submitted to an independent commission for consideration.
Guardiola threatens to quit City
An old comment of Guardiola from 2022 on the investigation into City's breach of FFP has resurfaced.
The statement, as quoted by Mirror UK, had the Spaniard saying he would quit if he found out the club bosses had lied to him.
“If I defend the people and the club, it’s because I work with them. When I asked about suspicions or if our people have done something, then I say to them, ‘tell me'," he said.

FootballGuardiola was further quoted as saying that if he was lied to, the next day he would be out and the person who had lied would no longer be his friend.
“But I look at them and believe them 100 per cent from day one. So I defend the club because of that,” he added.
As reported by Goal, Guardiola threatened to walk away from his City contract earlier this year, if he was to feel he could not get the best out of his players.
Guardiola gives excuses for City loss
Sports Brief earlier reported on Guardiola making excuses for City's loss to Tottanham, as they lost their grip on the Premier League title race.
The Spaniard blamed the loss on the four-hour journey to London, while Spurs won without seasoned manager, Antonio Conte, who is recuperating after surgery.
Some likened his comments to that of Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp, with others believing Guardiola has simply started losing his famous touch.
