Brazil international Dani Alves is attempting to have his hands' full while in prison in Spain.

Apart from the task of proving he is not guilty of the crime, Alves is now reportedly making an effort to save his marriage.

The Barcelona legend was arrested and detained in prison without bail, after being accused of assaulting a lady at a Barcelona nightclub last year December.

Alves' wife, Joanna Sanz, then asked for a divorce after the ex-Paris Saint-Germain defender reportedly admitted that he agreed to make love with his accuser - having initially denied he knew her.

As reported by Spanish outlet Sport, the Tenerife-born model has asked her lawyers to begin the process of filing for divorce from Alves.

The reports further claim that the 29-year-old Spanish beauty has been left devastated by her husband's assault charge.

Alves begs wife

According to Spanish TV Programme El Programa de Ana Rosa, Alves has contacted Sanz through a phone call. The lateral defender reportedly told his lover that he does not want to lose her.

The Spanish model is said to be open to hearing his side, but as of the moment she is still steadfast in her plan to file for divorce.

Alves plays for prison team

Alves has reportedly made his debut for a prison football team, after his arrest over an alleged nightclub assault.

The Brazilian is being held at the Brians II prison in Spain, where he reportedly showed football skills to his co-prisoners.

According to Spanish publication Diario AS, the right full-back played with other prisoners in the courtyard last Thursday.

Dani Alves’s contract terminated

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Mexican club, Pumas terminating the contract of Alves, following the latest scandal involving the veteran defender.

The 39-year-old has been arrested in Spain after he was accused of assaulting a woman in a Barcelona nightclub in December last year.

Pumas chairman, Leopoldo Silva announced in a statement to the press on January 20 that the veteran Brazilian was no longer part of the club.
