  • A member of Real Madrid's board of directors has revealed the club is still interested in signing Kylian Mbappe
  • Los Blancos were connected with a deal for the Frenchman a year ago but a transfer deal did not materialise
  • Mbappe still has two years on his current deal with Paris Saint-Germain despite reports of his unhappiness

Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid could still be on the cards, despite the Frenchman’s snubbing of the La Liga champions last summer.

The 24-year-old forward has constantly been linked with a move to Los Blancos, and that rumour has been strengthened by latest revelation from a top member of the Spanish giants' board.

Catalina Minarro has confirmed that as long as Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez is still interested in Mbappe, there’s every possibility the Frenchman will join the Spanish giants, Sportskeeda reports.

“With Florentino, I wouldn’t rule anything out. If he has to come and he meets the criteria of the club, he will come. If not, he will not come and others will.”

Mbappe has been on fire for Paris Saint-Germain this season, scoring 25 goals and dishing out six assists in 25 games.

Mbappe suffers injury in PSG win

Meanwhile, PSG has been dealt a huge blow ahead of their Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich, following a reported injury to star forward Mbappe.

After two missed penalties, including a skied sitter, the Frenchman forward was taken off after just 21 minutes in what was a nightmarish night, the BBC reports.

PSG will be hoping the 24-year-old forward recovers in time, before a gruelling Champions League first-leg tie against the Bavarians in two weeks' time.

Mbappe misses back-to-back penalties

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Mbappe missing from the spot on two occasions in PSG's Ligue 1 game against Montpellier on Wednesday evening.

The French star, who scored a hat-trick of penalties in the World Cup final, uncharacteristically missed his effort from 12 yards on two occasions.

The 24-year-old had the opportunity to put PSG ahead after just seven minutes, but his effort was thwarted by Montpellier goalkeeper, Benjamin Lecomte.
