Bayern Munich has announced the signing of Portugal international defender, Joao Cancelo from English Premier League champions Manchester City.
The 28-year-old joins the Bundesliga champions on transfer deadline day after falling down the pecking order at City after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Bayern Munich who just signed the defender on loan from City until the end of the season confirmed Cancelo’s signing by posting a video of the Portugal star on social media.

During his time at Manchester City, Cancelo won two league titles and was twice named in the Premier League Team of the Year.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has hailed the club’s capture of Portugal defender Joao Cancelo from Manchester City.
Salihamidzic believes the addition of Cancelo to the current Bayern Munich team will bring more quality to the Bundesliga champions due to his abilities and flair.
Since the World Cup resumed, Bayern has yet to register a victory. The team began the year with three straight 1-1 draws against Leipzig, Cologne, and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that the relationship between Cancelo and Guardiola is said to have become strained, with the pair allegedly falling out.
