  • Being a Mamelodi Sundowns supporter must be the most comfortable occupation for any South African today
  • Their team is an unstoppable machine in the Premier Soccer League guaranteeing at least one trophy a season
  • Following Jabu Mahlangu's rant last week about the possible introduction of Financial Fair Play to neutralise the club's spending power, they gave a cheeky response over this

Mamelodi Sundowns supporters are not bothered by Jabu Mahlangu's opinion.

The legendary former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder expressed his concerns about the club's total domination of South African football. Citing the infamous Financial Fair Play as a possible solution, Mahlangu believes this will see the standard of the Premier Soccer League improve and assist Bafana Bafana in the long run.

In response, the Brazilians' supporters responded in a cheeky song that was seen and heard on social media. They sang it last Saturday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Tshwane after the Brazilian's DStv Premiership match against Sekhukhune United.

Sundowns had just completed a tough 2-0 win, ensuring a record-extending 14th league victory in a row. Continuing the trend of record extensions, they are bearing down on a record-extending sixth league title on the bounce AND a record-extending 13th league title in the PSL era.

The crux of the song was for United and other Sundowns' vanquished opponents to ironically "thank" Mahlangu for their continued misery at the hands of the defending champions.

Jabu Mahlangu suggests Financial Fair Play

Mamelodi Sundowns has become too dominant in the Premier Soccer League.

The Brazilians are mere footsteps away from clinching their sixth consecutive DStv Premiership title in a row, likely to do so in record time. While the club can be praised for their ruthlessly efficient professionalism, this has led to concern among those - including Jabu Pule - being worried about the interest of the game in the longer run.

The main worry is how Bafana Bafana is not benefitting from Sundowns' dominance, with the standard of the league having noticeably gone down because a majority of quality players it possesses are at Chloorkop, with too many of them on the bench and in the stands.
