A former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo was in the thick of the action in an exhibition match during the Baptist Boys High School anniversary in Abeokuta.
Obasanjo was transferred to the school in 1952, with reports claiming his school fees were partly financed by state grants.
At 85, OBJ captained a side during their anniversary in 2023 and photos showed he also took a penalty kick during the game.
His side won the tie and the ‘captain’ led his teammates into the stands, where they were presented with medals.

Nigerian outlet, Punch Newspapers shared the photos on Facebook and credited Penpushing Media for the details.
Reactions have continued to trail the photos. One said:
“While someone who aspires to be the next President cannot work or talk unaided."
“Another one who was an ex General like OBJ, cannot even run 200 metres without falling down. I didn't mention names.”
Another added:

Obasanjo was Nigeria’s head of state between February 1976 and October 1979, before he took over the role of president from May 1999 to May 2007.

Sports Brief earlier reported on Obasanjo celebrating his birthday in style, scoring twice for his five-a-side team versus a selected group of friends to mark his 85th birthday.
The game was played at the five-a-side football pitch of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
The former leader captained his team as they defeated a team from the state 4-2, with the former statesman getting a brace in the game.
