Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand slammed winger Antony over his performance against Arsenal on Sunday as he lamented the Brazilian’s alleged inability to ‘beat anyone on the ball’.
Antony was largely ineffective against the Gunners as United fell to a 3-2 defeat at the Emirates.
The 22-year-old, who as signed for £85.5million from Ajax, was replaced by Fred with 20 minutes to go with the scores tied.
His five goals in 19 games for United have included two stunners with his left foot, but many fans believe his performances have not lived up to his hefty price tag.

Ferdinand was among those who were thoroughly critical of Antony, as the former United defender did not hold back in pointing out what he felt was the issue.
"The concerning thing for me with somebody like Antony is that he can't beat anyone – and for a Brazilian that's surprising," Ferdinand said on his FIVE show.
‘He just doesn’t beat anyone and I’m sitting there thinking, “Was that always the way?”
Ferdinand went on to admit Antony was a ‘tricky’ winger, but still needed to have the ability to beat a man, especially in a one-on-one situation.
Ten Hag critical of his players
After the defeat, United boss Erik Ten Hag was also not happy with his players, but for a different reason to Ferdinand’s.

After the Arsenal defeat, the in-form Marcus Rashford took to social media with a positive message about his side.
In a post shared on his Twitter feed, the Man United attacker admitted he was heartbroken with the result but urged his teammates to keep moving forward.
United's defeat saw them miss out on a golden chance to climb to third, which would have placed them within just five points of leaders, Arsenal.
