Karim Benzema continues to write his name into Real Madrid's record books.
The French striker endured a difficult start to the new season as a result of injuries but has slowly found his way back to goal-scoring form for the team.
As noted by BBC, the attacker scored a brilliant volley against Athletic Club Bilbao to help Madrid to a 2-0 win and edge closer to a Real Madrid record in the process.
The volley took Benzema to 228 goals for Los Blancos in La Liga alone, drawing him level with Raul. He also surpassed Real Madrid legend, Alfredo di Stefano's tally of 227.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo (311) has now scored more goals in La Liga for Madrid than big Benz.
Ronaldo leads the way
Ronaldo also leads Benzema when it comes to most goals for Madrid in all competitions. As noted by Goal, Ronaldo scored 451 goals during his time with the club, while Benzema has now reached 335.
Benzema doesn't have to share second place with Raul, having scored 13 more goals than the Spaniard in all competitions for the La Liga giants.
The Ballon d'Or winner's contract expires at the end of the season and with no deal being finalized as yet, Benzema might not get the chance to surpass Ronaldo's records as a Madrid star.
