Arsenal have reasserted their Premier League title credentials following their 3-2 thrilling win over Man United at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners had to rely on a late winner from Eddie Nketiah to secure the three points during the Sunday evening cracker.

Marcus Rashford had earlier on opened the scoring for United before Nketiah equalised for the hosts.

Bukayo Saka went on to hand Arsenal the lead shortly after the break only for Lisandro Martinez to restore parity for the Red Devils moments later.

Nketiah's 90th-minute winner saw the north Londoners go five points clear at the top of the standings.

Manchester City remain second with 45 points after their epic win over Wolves, while Newcastle and Manchester United complete the top-four slots with 39 points each.

Liverpool, Chelsea falter

Elsewhere, Chelsea and Liverpool played out to a 0-0 draw in another Premier League cracker played over the weekend, with the result denying both sides a chance to climb up the standings.

The Blues remain 10th on the charts with 29 points, on level on points with Liverpool who sit ninth.

Bournemouth, Everton, and Southampton are the three teams battling relegation as the second half of the 2022/23 season takes shape.

Bournemouth settled for a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest during their most recent outing, with Everton suffering a 2-0 defeat against West Ham United.

Chelsea have early goal ruled out

Earlier, Sports Brief reported, Chelsea were painfully denied an opener after only three minutes as Kai Havertz was adjudged to have been offside.

The West London outfit made a bright start to the game and won a corner early on, with Conor Gallagher whipping in a dangerous set piece.

It found Benoit Badishile, who guided the ball to the path of veteran defender Thiago Silva, whose shot came off against the upright but fell kindly to Havertz who slotted home what he thought was a much-needed opener.

At first, it looked like Liverpool’s James Milner was keeping Havertz online, but VAR intervened to rule the goal out for offside.
