Dani Alves’s Contract Terminated Following Brazil Icon’s Arrest Over Claims of Assault

Mexican club, Pumas has terminated the contract of Brazil international Dani Alves following the latest scandal rocking the veteran defender.
The 39-year-old has been arrested in Spain after he was accused of assaulting a woman in a Barcelona nightclub in December 2022.
Pumas chairman Leopoldo Silva announced in a brief statement to the press on Friday, January 20 that the veteran Brazil international is no longer part of the club.

Alves who has denied the accusations was taken into custody and appeared in front of a judge after he was arrested by Spanish police late on Thursday.
The veteran defender who has made just 13 appearances for Pumas since joining the Mexican club last July has also featured for top European clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG.

Meanwhile, Dani Alves will be in prison for the foreseeable future after the former Barcelona defender was ordered to be held without bail.
The 39-year-old defender was arrested on Friday morning after handing himself in to a Barcelona police station, and was subsequently charged with assaulting a woman.
Alves has vehemently denied any wrongdoing after appearing in front of a judge on Friday, January 20 in Spain before being remanded in prison.
