Jesse Lingard recently came out guns blazing with some explosive remarks about Manchester United, as he accused the club of turning its back on him.
Lingard did not hold back as he claimed the Red Devils were ‘living in the past’, and added things had never been the same since Sir Alex Ferguson left.
The winger went on to claim Man United had briefed the press against him after a failed loan move to Newcastle United.
In an interview with Diary of a CEO, the 29-year old claimed he was on the verge of joining the Magpies on loan, but the deal collapsed at the 11th hour.

According to Lingard, United's Director of Football, John Murtough phoned him at the last minute and informed him he would not be joining Newcastle, despite struggling for playing time at Old Trafford.
Lingard was then brutally asked whether his motivation to leave the club was because he wanted time off.
"I wanted to go on loan in January, because I wasn't playing - again - and Newcastle was on the cards," Lingard said on the podcast.
Lingard said that despite a few players being allowed to go out on loan, Murtough bluntly stated he was not one of them.
"I was like, 'Well, he's gone on loan - let me go and enjoy my football as I'm not playing here'. [Murtough] asked, 'What do you want, days off?' and I said, 'No, I just want to go and play football'."

NFLLingard calls United 'miles behind'
In the same podcast, Lingard also aimed a dig at his former club, as he claimed they were miles behind rivals like Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
"They’re so behind on everything," he added as quoted by TalkSport. “You see [Manchester] City’s facilities, Tottenham’s facilities. People are miles ahead. Even the social [media] side of things."
Among other things he discussed in the podcast was his mother’s battle with depression, which resulted in him having to take care of his siblings, and his idea of creating YouTube content for the club being shut down.
Lingard rose up the ranks at Man United, where he spent 22 years before eventually signing for Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2022.
He made a total of 221 appearances for the Red Devils, and famously scored in the FA Cup final in 2016.
