  • Chelsea have reportedly completed a move for RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku
  • Former Blues striker Timo Werner seemed to confirm this with some key advice
  • The German returned to Leipzig after two years in England after not hitting form

German striker, Timo Werner was on Chelsea's books for two years.

He returned to his former club, RB Leipzig at the start of the season after failing to hit form - and also after a falling out with former boss, Thomas Tuchel.

Werner played under Frank Lampard, who signed him to Chelsea.

However, it was under his compatriot that he achieved the successes he had in England, even though on an individual level, he could be said to have failed at Stamford Bridge.

According to Sports Illustrated, Todd Boehly has completed a £60-million move for France forward, Christopher Nkunku.

He will reportedly team up with Graham Potter's side in the summer, though the two clubs have remained mute on the deal.

Werner advises Nkunku about Chelsea

Nkunku and Werner played together before the German moved to London, and were reunited after he returned to the club after his Chelsea adventure.

If one man knows both clubs well and can offer advice to another player, it is the former Stuttgart man.

Speaking in an interview with Bild, as quoted by Metro UK, Werner warned the France international of the kind of pressure he would deal with in the Premier League, should he decide to move.

''I can tell him from positive and negative experiences, should he move. At a club like that, you don’t play like you did at RB Leipzig, because there’s even more competition - not only on a sporting level, but also in the mental area."

Werner added his belief that every person had to find their own way.

"That’s why it’s the wrong approach to give others tips,'' he said.

Nkunku and Werner missed the Qatar 2022 World Cup with injuries. Germany were eliminated in the group stage, while France lost in the final to Argentina.

Chelsea fans fear for Felix

Sports Brief earlier reported that Chelsea fans fear Joao Felix will flop after deciding to wear number 11, which was last worn by Werner at the club.

They claimed the jersey number now worn by the Atletico Madrid star is cursed, after the German's underwhelming two years at the club.

Their fears may have been heightened by the fact that the Portuguese star was sent off in his debut match against Fulham, which Chelsea lost 2-1.
