Richarlison clashes with Ramsdale

However, the match was marked by an ugly scene in the closing stages of the encounter, after Richarlison clashed with Arsenal goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.

Richarlison went on to accuse his international teammate Martinelli of diving, and even declined a fist bump from the Arsenal forward in the second half.

While the ex-Everton star apologised to his countryman in a post-match interview, he has gone a notch higher to send another apology on Instagram.

The Tottenham summer arrival posted a meme of himself and Martinelli wearing a T-shirt which is translated as follows:

"T-shirt of union. If you fight, you must wear it. Apologise. Hug it out. Say 'I love you'."

Richarlison and Tomiyasu face off

For a player who featured for less than 20 minutes, Richarlison was heavily involved in the North London derby, Sports Brief reported.

Known for his abrasive nature, the Brazilian was making his first appearance since recovering from a thigh injury he picked up after World Cup duty with his country.

With Spurs trailing 2-0, Antonio Conte sent Richarlison on with the hope of getting his team back into the game, but the 25-year-old could only make a nuisance of himself.
