Luis Enrique confirms he will leave Barcelona
FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has announced that he will no longer continue as the coach of the Catalan giants, saying he will leave at the end of the current season.
In a tweet posted on the club's official Twitter handle on Wednesday night, March 1, it was revealed that the manager will leave at the end of the current season.
Enrique has continued to suffer heavy criticisms since his side's embarrassing 4 - 0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League round of 16 first leg tie on Valentines Day.
In a chat with pressmen after Barcelona thrashed Sporting Gijon 6 - 1 in a La Liga fixture on Wednesday, Enrique disclosed that it is time to move on with his coaching career and that he has thought well about it.
"It is a difficult, measured and well thought-out decision and I think I have to be loyal to what I think," he said.
The former Spanish international played for Barcelona between 1996 and his retirement from playing in 2004.
