Lionel Messi entered football’s folklore as one of its greats after winning the World Cup, but the Paris Saint-Germain star still is not regarded as the game’s greatest-ever player by some.
Messi has won every competition he has participated in, with the 2022 World Cup the Argentine’s crowning moment, but former PSG star, Martin Cardetti believes Ronaldindo is better than him.
According to Sportskeeda, Cardetti believes Ronaldinho - who played alongside Messi at Barcelona - was a better player than the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner in his prime.
“As a coach, for my team, I would choose Ronaldinho at his best over Messi. I shared a year with Ronaldinho, and he is a different player; he’s touched by God."

Cardetti described how the Brazilian always had fun, and was always trying something with the ball.
“He practiced a lot, so that he could replicate those things in matches.”
Ronaldinho enjoyed a phenomenal career, playing for Barcelona, PSG and AC Milan, scoring 197 goals and providing 163 assists in 542 club appearances.
Meanwhile, Ronaldinho acted as a godfather to Messi, with the Brazilian legend helping the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner integrate into the Barcelona senior team, as stated by FIFA.
In FIFA’s The Happiest Man in the World documentary about the flamboyant Brazilian star, the two relationship between the pair was examined.
Ronaldinho and Messi enjoyed a successful time together at La Blaugrana, winning two Spanish La Liga titles and the 2006 Champions League crown.
