- Arsenal vs Bayern Munich finished 2-1 in favour of the Gunners

- Nketiah emerged match hero in the dying minutes of the match as he scored Arsenal's winner
Eddie Nketiah's late second-half goal was all Arsenal needed to beat Bayern Munich 2-1 in the early hours of Thursday, July 18, at the Dignity Health Sports Park in the International Champions Cup.
The Gunners were looking to build on their 3-0 win over Colorado Rapids in their pre-season tour opener, with Unai Emery introducing the big guns to face the Bundesliga champions.

Mesut Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were all handed a start in attack, as Gabriel Martinelli - who scored a goal on his Gunners debut in win over Colorado Rapids - dropped to the bench, along with fellow goalscorers Bukayo Saka and James Olayinka.
However, despite parading a near-full -strength starting lineup, both sides had to wait until the second half to find the back of the net after going goalless into the break in the evenly-contested clash.
Arsenal took the lead in the 49th minute courtesy of Louis Poznanski's own goal who directed the ball into his own net off Aubameyang's powerful strike.

The lead, however, did not last long as Robert Lewandowski who came on as a second-half substitute equalised for Bayern, with the unmarked Poland striker rising in the box to nod home a cross from Serge Gnabry.
With just two minutes left to finish the match, Nketiah fired the Gunners into the lead, capitalising on John-Jules' perfectly placed pass.
The Emery-tutored side managed to fend off Bayern's attacking advances in the dying minutes of the match to claim a 2-1 victory and three important points in the tournament.
