Asisat Oshoala continued with her impressive performances for Barcelona Femeni in the top Spanish female division, by scoring a goal and creating an assist in the big win over Sevilla.

The encounter was played on Saturday, January 7, and Oshoala made sure her club recorded an emphatic 4-0 win over their visiting opponents.

Playing in front of their fans, Barcelona Femeni started the game impressively, with Claudia Pina missing a chance to open the scoring as early as the fourth minute.

Pina made up for her miss in the 11th minute however, when she provided a fine assist for Oshoala to score Barcelona's first goal, according to the report by GOAL.

Oshoala created assist for Pina

Interestingly, Pina netted Barcelona's second goal against Sevilla in the 34th minute, and it was Oshoala who provided the assist for her this time around.

Their combination upfront was superb for the Spanish queens, and they seem to enjoy playing together.

Oshoala was substituted in the 76th minute, paving the way for Bruna Vilamala.

Salma Paralluelo scored two goals in the 70th and 84th minute respectively, to give Barcelona a perfect win over their opponents.

Oshoala wins 2022 ICC award

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian international Oshoala was rewarded for her role in advancing women's soccer, during the Women’s International Champions Cup.

The Barcelona Femeni striker received the prize at the annual WICC Best XI awards on Monday, as she joined England national team coach, Sarina Wiegman.

Other recipients were journalists Jeff Kassouf and Anna Kessel, U.S. Soccer President, Cindy Parlow Cone and Ally Chief Marketing Officer, Andrea Brimmer.

Oshoala is the first African female player to feature in the English league, having previously played for Liverpool and Arsenal - who claimed the Women's FA Cup.
