Jubilation at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea confirm first January signing

Besiktas boss Senol Gunes has responded to claims about Dutch star Wout Weghorst joining Manchester United during the ongoing January transfer window.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of a new centre-forward to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who departed the club prematurely back in November 2022.
Anthony Martial is currently the only natural No.9 in the books of United, creating the need for the club to sign a backup.
Reports suggest that Weghorst has emerged as United's top priority signing, with the Dutchman expected to be a short-term fix to the current attacking shortfall.

Jubilation at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea confirm first January signing
FootballAccording to Metro UK, Man United have been making significant progress in talks to sign the towering Dutch striker, who is on loan at Besiktas from parent club Burnley.
However, a deal for the forward to move to Old Trafford could be a little complicated, with Besiktas expected to first agree to terminate his season-long loan deal before he can seal a move to the Premier League.
Besiktas boss Gunes has since alluded to the same, with the tactician insisting that the decision for Weghorst to join Man United is not solely dependent on the Netherlands international.
"It is not enough to say goodbye to the crowd. He also needs to talk to the club," Gunes was quoted saying.
"I have heard of such a development, but it is not clear. I’ll consider [him] leaving after I talk to both him and the club," he added.
Jorginho's next club dream if he leaves Chelsea as revealed by agent
FootballEarlier, Sports Brief Dutch striker Wout Weghorst is reportedly one step away from joining Manchester United on a short-term loan. United are on the market to look for Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement and the lanky forward is said to be close to sealing a move to Old Trafford.
Weghorst shared an emotional moment with Besiktas fans on January 7th at the Vodafone Park after their Super Lig match against Kasimpasa SK.
With no proper options in the market at the market, ten Hag is seemingly keen to get a stop-gap short-term option to alleviate the burden on Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
