Neymar’s reign as a Paris Saint-Germain player could be coming to an end at the end of the 2022/23 season as the French champions are finally ready to offload the Brazilian winger.

The 30-year-old winger has had a topsy-turvy campaign in his time in Paris, shrouded with controversies and most notably his fallout with teammate Kylian Mbappe.

According to Sportskeeda, the former Barcelona winger's contract is slated to expire in 2026, but PSG is willing to let him leave while they still have the opportunity to get a sizable transfer fee for him.

Neymar's asking price was €150million last year, but the French champions are anticipated to lower it to make his transfer easier.

PSG are also very confident Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe can carry the team in Neymar’s absence after pressing to extend the contracts of both players and not the Brazilian.

Neymar slammed for not attending Pele’s funeral

Meanwhile, Paris Saint Germain star Neymar has been slammed by fans and the media back home for not attending Brazil legend Pele’s funeral, Sports Bible reports.

Neymar opted to stay in France to train with PSG instead of travelling to Brazil and that decision has not gone down well with many in Brazil.

Brasil Urgente presenter Jose Luiz Datena blasted Neymar as he said the 30-year-old could pressure PSG to allow him attend parties but can’t do same to attend Pele’s funeral.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Lionel Messi received a warm reception from his Paris Saint-Germain teammates, upon his arrival back after his extended vacation.

The 35-year-old playmaker made a return to Paris after conquering the world with his beloved Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

On his arrival, the former Barcelona talisman was given a kingly welcome by his PSG teammates, which included bosom friend Neymar, Carlos Soler and others.
