In PSG's first two post-World Cup games without Messi, Les Parisiens secured a narrow win over Strasbourg and suffered a shocking loss to RC Lens.

He could link up with his clubmates as soon as January 11, when the Ligue 1 leaders play hosts to Angers, per GOAL.

Just as Messi arrives, Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi have embarked on holidays. Both players cut short their breaks after the World Cup to help PSG, but they will now both go off for a week, Besoccer notes.

Messi arrives back in Paris

Messi has finally returned to Paris, ending his vacation on the back of Argentina's World Cup triumph, Sports Brief reported.

The World Cup Golden Ball winner was given an extended vacation, after playing a major role in Argentina dethroning France as world champions.

Messi finally arrived back at PSG's Training Centre on Wednesday morning as he gears up for club football, the Parisians announced via social media.

Fans divided on GOAT debate

Sports Brief earlier reported that fans still share varied opinions on who the football GOAT is between Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi, in the wake of the 2022 World Cup.

The Qatar edition of the global football tournament was touted to settle the never-ending debate, with the two football greats making their fifth appearance in the competition each.

However, it was Messi who came out on top, as he captained Argentina to their first World Cup triumph since 1986.
