Aguero, who called time on his career a year before his country's triumph in Qatar, was a conspicuous member of La Albiceleste's entourage despite not featuring on the pitch.
He made headlines for storming the Lusail Stadium with a drum after Argentina dethroned France as world champions, leading the celebrations for the South American giants.
His overzealous celebrations amused everyone bar his bosom friend and eventual tournament best player, Lionel Messi.

"I drank a lot but I didn't eat. We were world champions. If something were to happen to me, let it be there. Leo (Messi) got angry and told me 'stop'. How stop? We are world champions, so happy..." he said on Twitch as quoted by Roy Nemer.
Aguero sent a heartfelt message to his close friend Messi as well, after Argentina won their third World Cup trophy.

Aguero took to Twitter to send a message to his pal about his success, with the former Argentina international spotted with the World Cup and saying he felt like he still was part of the team.
