FootballJames' Personal Trainer Issues Worrying Update on Chelsea Star Injury
- Reece James returned to action for the first time since October in Chelsea's win over Brighton but suffered a recurrence
- Graham Potter and the club are yet to provide any details of the injury, but we know it's the same knee
- His personal trainer posted a very worrying update on Instagram about the injury
Chelsea beat Burnley 2-0 in their first match back in the Premier League after the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. However, it was not without concern as defender Reece James limped off injured in his first game since October.
The right back went down in the 52nd minute in obvious pain and signaled to be substituted. He went straight down the tunnel and looked very distraught, a reaction which does not speak well about the severity of the injury.
He was enjoying influential periods on the pitch before the incident, shutting down the right side of the Bournemouth attack and helping Raheem Sterling bomb forward as much as possible.
Head coach Graham Potter said a full update will be available in 24-48 hours, but if the post by his personal performance trainer is anything to go by, it either provides a serious concern or anger at the management by the club.

Statement by Graham Potter
Graham Potter in his post-match conference as reported on Chelsea 5th Stand app as quoted by Absolute Chelsea, expressed concern for the injury, but said it was not planned he will complete 90 minutes to exonerate himself from blames of burdening the player.
“I am not sure the state of the injury, it is too early to say. You could see his quality and the player he is, so it's a blow for us. Fingers crossed, but we'll see how bad it is. At the moment, not sure. He will be assessed in the next 24 to 48 hours.” Potter said.

FootballJames' private performance coach James Ralph made a post on Instagram that worried Chelsea fans and speculated the player was rushed back to action. He captioned an image of three emojis with “I need to bite my tongue despite having a lot to say.”
Fofana's message to James
Sports Brief earlier reported that Wesley Fofana sent a message of support to Reece James, who walked off with an injury in the win over Bournemouth.
Both players have spent time together injured in the last months and will spend more after Fofana also got reinjured in a training match.
The former Leicester man took to Instagram to show his backing to his teammate, shortly after the match ended.
