Karim Benzema has reportedly unfollowed all the France team players on the photo-sharing App, Instagram, except Kylian Mbappe and four others.

Benzema's brutal decision follows his earlier decision to call time on his international career on the back of France's heartbreaking World Cup final defeat to Argentina.

The 35-year-old Real Madrid front man was originally named in Didier Deschamps 26-man squad however, missed out on the tournament due to a thigh injury.

His inability to return to the France World Cup team aside from his injury has been associated with a number of reasons including some senior players revolting against the decision to bring him back, per SB Nation.

Fuelling the claims of his bad blood with the rest of the French team, the current Ballon d'Or holder has reportedly unfollowed all players on the team on Instagram except five players.

Who are the players Benzema still follows on Instagram?

According to Besoccer , Benzema, who is bracing himself for the return of club football, only follows Madrid teammates Camavinga and Tchouameni.

Not forgetting World Cup Golden Boot winner Kylian Mbappé, Marcus Thuram and defender Raphael Varane.

Benzema retires from France

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has officially announced his retirement from international football.

The 35-year-old made the announcement a day after France lost to Argentina in a dramatic 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.

GFFN now reports that Benzema was unhappy with how he was treated when he got that injury. The Real Madrid captain reportedly wanted to hang around in Qatar and given a chance to recover to have a shot at playing but Deschamps sent him home.

Benzema, Deschamps rift explained

Sports Brief earlier reported that a rift has been reported between Karim Benzema and France Head Coach Didier Deschamps even as the defending champions prepare to face Argentina in the 2022 World Cup final.

Benzema was part of Deschamps' final squad to Qatar but had to return to Madrid after picking up a thigh injury. He has since recovered and could have been eligible to play on Sunday, December 18th.
