Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala officially received her Pichichi award, for finishing as the top scorer during the 2021/22 Spanish Primera Division women's league.
The Nigerian international netted 20 goals during the campaign to beat Real Madrid's Geyse Ferreira to the award in May, as the league's top scorer.
Statistics have it that Oshoala and Geyse were tied on 20 goals, but the Barcelona Femeni star also played 19 games and made three assists.
Geyse on the other hand, registered the goals in 27 matches and managed just one assist during the entire campaign.

It was noted that Barcelona Femeni won the 2021/2022 Primera Iberdrola with a perfect record of 30 wins from 30 matches, scoring 159 goals and conceding just 11 times in the process.
Oshoala honoured during WICC award
Meanwhile, Oshoala was rewarded for her role in advancing women's soccer during the Women’s International Champions Cup (WICC).
The Barcelona Femeni striker received the prize at the annual WICC Best XI award on Monday, joining England national team coach Sarina Wiegman.
Other recipients at the awards were journalists Jeff Kassouf and Anna Kessel, American soccer chief Cindy Parlow Cone, and Ally Chief Marketing Officer Andrea Brimmer.
The Nigerian is the first African female player to feature in the English league, having previously played for Liverpool and Arsenal, and going on to win the 2015 Women’s FA Cup with the Gunners.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Nigerian fans have expressed happiness, after noticing the official Twitter account of Barcelona Femeni called striker Oshoala 'agba baller' after her impressive game.

FootballAgba baller is a Yoruba phrase used to describe an experienced and good footballer on the pitch.
According to the post Barcelona posted via their account on the social media platform, many Nigerians were surprised and impressed that the club used Yoruba language to hail Oshoala.
