Argentina won the Qatar 2022 FIFA World after beating France 4-2 on penalties, but they did it in their usual manner, with a lot of drama, pressure and putting their fans through suffering.

De Paul admits he and his teammates enjoy the suffering as it feels so good to them. He also said going forward they will have to suffer more to achieve more.

De Paul: Argentina born to suffer

Speaking in an interview with Mundo Deportivo after the victory in which Argentina threw away the lead twice and won on penalties, he said they enjoy suffering.

“We suffered a lot, but it feels so good. We were born to suffer, it hardens us, as we are going to suffer all our lives. We always carry the flag everywhere; I hope our fans are as happy as we are.” he said.

De Paul affair with Messi

Rodrigo De Paul is known by many as Lionel Messi's bodyguard because of his closeness and eagerness to defend the 35 year old.

In an interview with FIFA, he once said he would go to war if Messi asked him to.

“You look up to him obviously, but when you start sharing things with him. When he becomes your captain, you’d go to war for him if he asked you to.” he said,

Gatecrashing Messi live stream

Sports Brief earlier reported how Rodrigo De Paul gatecrashed Lionel Messi's live stream with Sergio Aguero.

The former Udinese midfielder walked past Lionel Messi during a video chat with former Argentina international Sergio Aguero and kissed Messi.

He is always ever present around Messi and won't mind taking one for him if an opponent tackles him rough.
