The game produced some memorable moments, but the penalty shootout decided who ended the night with a smile and the Jules Rimet trophy.

France were shell-shocked in the first half and the final seemed like it was done and dusted, but Mbappe put on a show to make matters interesting.

Most of the NBA players did not forget to applaud the performance of Mbappe, who became the second man to score a hat-trick in the World Cup final.
The 23-year-old finished the tournament as the top scorer, while Messi won the award for best player for the tournament.
Michael Jordan honoured with trophy
Sports Brief earlier reported on the NBA re-naming the MVP award after Chicago Bulls icon, Michael Jordan.
For six decades, the trophy was named after Maurice Podoloff, the basketball league's first commissioner.
The NBA announced on December 15 their decision to rebrand in honour of Jordan, a five-time winner of the award for the most valuable player.
