Whatever remains of the unending GOAT debate must have ended yesterday as it would lack any basis to compare Lionel Messi to his archrival Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Argentine sealed his spot as the greatest footballer of all time, hard to question for anyone after lifting football's ultimate trophy on his final attempt.

Ace commentator Peter Drury was on commentary, and it was not hard to see why as he has proven time and time, he can deliver succinct lines that describes the occasions perfectly.

Drury poetically ends GOAT debate

One of the British commentator's greatest commentaries was on the epic UEFA Champions League match between AS Roma and Barcelona but time and time again he proved he's the man for the occasion.

He comes in simple but passes the messages and yesterday was to those who may have any doubts on the GOAT debate.

“There are those who will always debate, and then debate can rage on if you like. The greatest of all- time.” Drury said.

It's not the first time Drury will speak on the comparison between the two mercurial players that lit up football in their generation.

He has been a longtime admirer of the Rosario born Lionel Messi.

Messi got three stars

Sports Brief earlier reported that after the World Cup triumph, Lionel Messi's jersey was pictured with three stars which is for Argentina's three world titles.

How quickly the third star was pasted on his jersey passed a strong message of belief in their chances and readiness of the Argentina backroom staff.

The captain who has now led Argentina to three international trophies was carried around the stadium similar to how Diego Maradona was carried around after the 1986 World Cup win.
