Mbappe appears to taunt Messi

The Paris Saint-Germain star seemed to taunt his teammate Messi shortly after drawing Les Bleus level with a masterclass.

According to Mirror UK, Mbappe was evidently elated with the sudden turn of events and could hardly hide his joy at dragging his side back into the game.

So much so that he was spotted looking at Messi, before clenching his fist pointedly in celebration as Argentina prepared to restart the match.

Unfortunately for the young striker, his efforts were not enough, as Argentina were eventually crowned World Cup winners after a thrilling penalty shootout.

France, who went into the tournament as the defending champions, missed two of their spot kicks as the South Americans buried all four to win the title for the first time since 1986.

Records Mbappe will break

Sports Brief earlier reported on seven records Mbappe will break in his career. He became the second teenager to score at a World Cup tournament when he did so in the 2018 edition.

If he maintains his current productivity rate, the PSG star will score even more goals at the World Cup, break the French goal scoring record at the football showpiece, and also surpass Messi's longevity.

He could also play the most games at the tournament and end with the most appearances for France.
