Controversial NSW deal

Daily Mail reports that the fans were already frustrated before the game after Football Australia abandoned an A-League tradition of clubs being given the luxury of hosting the grand final based on how they performed in the series finals. The hosting rights have now been sold to New South Wales with Sydney set to host the games for the next three years.

City had gone ahead through Aiden O'Neill's goal in the 11th minute but 10 minutes later, the game had to be stopped due to player safety. The Guardian reports that Football Australia has condemned the incident and promised stern action against the perpetrators.

Zenit St. Petersburg vs Spartak Moscow chaos

Sports Brief had earlier reported that a referee in Russia was forced to send off six players on November 27th, when a cup tie between Zenit St. Petersburg and Spartak Moscow turned into a massive brawl.

The incident happened in stoppage time and was triggered by Quincy Promes and William Barros. Referee Vladimir Moskalev tried to tone down the confrontation between the two players, but it was a tad too late.

Members of both teams' technical benches and players who were on the bench jumped on the pitch, exchanging blows and kicks. In a viral video, Moskalev is seen running helplessly trying to restore calm.
