The majority of the attention ahead of the semi-final match between France and Morocco was on the duel between club teammates and best friends Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi.

Amrabat has been one of the best defensive midfielders of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup but got a dose of his own medicine with Giroud who was chasing him about during the match.

The Moroccan could not handle what he gives out and revealed a moment he had to question Giroud and told him to stop chasing him about.

Amrabat reveals Giroud's conversation

Olivier Giroud was given an unusual task by France boss Didier Deschamps in the game as he was told to eliminate the Moroccan midfield destroyer and he did just that.

Amrabat revealed he had to tell the former Chelsea striker to just stop hounding him about, he told NOS after the game as quoted by Football Italia.

“Their striker, Olivier Giroud, followed me everywhere all over the field. I said to him, just STOP! He replied that he was instructed to follow me for the whole game.” he said.

Giroud and Amrabat are no stranger to each other as they both play in in the Italian Serie A for Italian champions AC Milan and Fiorentina respectively.

France goals came through left back Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani as the world champions moved one step closer to retaining their title.

Amrabat went brutal on Mbappe

Sports Brief earlier reported that Sofyan Amrabat tackled Kylian Mbappe in one of the most brutal tackles of the World Cup when the two went against each other.

The referee judged that the Moroccan got enough of the ball and issued no card for the tackle. Mbappe shook it off and completed the match.

Mbappe is believed to have no fitness concern after the tackle and will once again be instrumental as France take on Argentina in the final on Sunday
