A fan has died following violent clashes between French and Moroccan supporters in the aftermath of their World Cup semi-final clash on Wednesday, December 14.
Violence erupted in various parts of France after Les Blues defeated Morocco 2-0 to advance to the second consecutive World Cup final at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar.
According to Sky Sports, a statement issued by the local government office in Montpellier said the boy was "violently hit" by a car in the city which is in the south of France.

The 14-year-old boy was pronounced dead shortly after being admitted to a hospital in Montpellier, the Herault administration said.
French media said the boy was hit by a car after someone tried to steal a French flag from the driver, which led to the car swerving in the direction of the crowd.
Meanwhile, approximately 100 people have been detained by police in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, following Morocco's World Cup semi-final loss to France, DW reports.
Belgian police confirmed among the detained soccer fans on were people accused of disturbing public order, damaging two police vehicles after riots broke out following the Atlas Lion’s defeat.
Several people were also arrested in Antwerp as authorities had feared larger disruptions following riots in Belgium and the Netherlands.
