The North Londoners have won 12 of their last 14 outings, an impressive run which has them topping the standings with 37 points.

But with the Premier League currently on hold due to the ongoing 2022 World Cup, the club organised a series of friendly matches to help them stay fit before the resumption of English top flight action.

Arsenal win Dubai Super Cup

One of these fixtures has seen them win their first trophy of the new season, after seeing off AC Milan in a thrilling friendly clash on Tuesday, December 13.

Mikel Arteta's charges stunned the Italian giants 2-1 at Al-Maktoum Stadium to win the Dubai Super Cup.

Goals from Martin Odegaard and Reis Nelson were enough to secure the Premier League leaders the win, with Fiakyo Tomori netting Milan's equaliser.

The Gunners are scheduled to play Juventus in their final round of friendlies on Saturday, December 17, before resuming Premier League action against West Ham United on Boxing Day.

Odegaard scores stunner

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal fans were left ecstatic on Tuesday, December 13 after witnessing a classic free kick by Martin Odegaard.

After Norway failed to qualify for the World Cup, the Gunners' captain got a break from football action as all eyes turned to Qatar.

Back in action, the 23-year-old opened the scoring for his side with a sumptuous left-footed free kick, a few yards from the penalty area.

He did it brilliantly as he brought the ball up and down to beat the goalie, to give his side a much-deserved lead.
