Chelsea legend Didier Drogba took time to send Harry Kane a reassuring message following England's elimination from the World Cup.
Kane simultaneously played hero and villain as the Three Lions crashed out of the World Cup at the hands of defending champions France.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker restored parity for his side via the penalty spot after Aurelien Tchouameni had scored for France in the first half.
Didier Deschamps' side however raced back in front via an Olivier Giroud header. Theo Hernandez hacked down Mason Mount in the area and England were awarded another penalty. But this time around, Kane skied his effort as England crashed out of the tournament.

Kane apologized to England fans via social media by taking responsibility for the missed penalty. Drogba then left a message for the 29-year-old which read:
"It will hurt but you are a true Captain and leader.
I really like the way you played during this World Cup, an example for strikers to watch: score, assist, hold and lead!! It will take time to get over it, but this will make you stronger!!!"
England's dream of 'it's coming home' was postponed once again as France proceeds to face Morocco in the semifinals.
