World football governing body on Friday afternoon, 9 December, released the latest ranking, which is the last for the year 2022 and it sees the Super Falcons of Nigeria retain their 45th position.
The year 2022 has been a tough year for the Super Falcons who lost their African crown to South Africa national women's team in the summer.
Coach Randy Waldrum and his wards have also been winless in their last five outings which is not an impressive record.
However, the United States of America who are the world champions retained the top position on the ranking despite winning only one of their last four games.

Falcons' position in Africa
Despite being ranked 45th in the world, Falcons still remain the best footballing side in Africa according to the ranking by FIFA.
South Africa occupy second position and 54th in the global ranking, while Cameroon are third and 54th in the world.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons will campaign in next year's Women's World Cup where they are in group B alongside Canada, Australia and Republic of Ireland.
Nigeria will play their first game against Canada on July 21, 2023.
Oshoala scores wonder goal
Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala on Sunday evening, 20 November, scored her third goal of the season for Barcelona as they recorded an 8-0 win over visiting Deportivo Alaves.
This is a big win for the Super Falcons star and her teammates as they are aiming to win the League title at the end of the term.

FootballClaudia Pina opened the scoring for the champions on eight minutes. Oshoala added the second goal four minutes later.
The 28-year-old was in action for 90 minutes in the one-sided game.
The Nigerian has now scored three goals in nine league appearances for the Blaugrana this season.
Her international teammate, Osinachi Ohale was also in action for Deportivo Alaves.
