Asisat Oshoala Scores Wonder Goal As Barcelona Record 8–0 Win Over Big Opponents

Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala on Sunday evening, 20 November, scored her third goal of the season for Barcelona as they recorded a 8-0 win over visiting Deportivo Alaves.

This is a big win for the Super Falcons star and her teammates as they are aiming to win the League title at the end of the term.

Claudia Pina opened the scoring for the champions on eight minutes. Oshoala added the second goal four minutes later.

The 28-year-old was in action for 90 minutes in the one-sided game.

The Nigerian has now scored three goals in nine league appearances for the Blaugrana this season.

Her international teammate, Osinachi Ohale was also in action for Deportivo Alaves.

Oshoala and her teammates are still topping the League table with 27 points after nine games played so far this season and they have not lost any game.

Oshoala wins 2022 Women’s ICC award

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala was rewarded for her role in advancing women's soccer during the Women’s International Champions Cup.

The Barcelona Femeni striker received the prize at the annual WICC Best XI award on Monday as she joined England national team coach Sarina Wiegman.

Other recipients at the awards are journalists Jeff Kassouf and Anna Kessel, U.S. Soccer President Cindy Parlow Cone and Ally Chief Marketing Officer Andrea Brimmer.

Oshoala is the first African female player to feature in the English league, having previously played for Liverpool and Arsenal as she went on to win the 2015 Women’s FA Cup with the Gunners.
