Deschamps statement on Southgate
Deschamps made the call for Southgate while speaking to the press ahead of the crunch game as quoted by GFFN.
''He’s not especially appreciated or valued in his country. Just because he’s been a player previously doesn’t mean he can’t be a very good manager. He’s had some good results. On a human level, he’s someone I like a lot.”
Southgate has been England's manager since 2016 and guided the team to a fourth place finish at the 2018 World Cup and runners-up at Euro 2020.
Deschamp fires Mbappe warning
Didier Deschamps has warned England that PSG star Kylian Mbappe will be decisive in the match, but all focus should not be put on him.
"Kylian has this capacity to make the difference. In the last game, where he wasn’t at his best compared to the first two, he was still decisive. Spreading the danger for our opponents will avoid the focus being on him.”

FootballSouthgate has plans for Mbappe
Sports Brief earlier reported that Gareth Southgate revealed plans to stop Mbappe. The menacing forward has the majority of the match's highlight on him.
Mbappe is a winger who does not track back to support his fullback and it is a weakness Southgate and his team will exploit by using one of Phil Foden or Marcus Rashford.
England right back Kyle Walker who is expected to start will also need to be on top of his game to stop Mbappe from causing damage.
