European championship runners-up England dominated and defeated African champions Senegal in their round of 16 encounter at the ongoing Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Goals from Jordan Henderson, Bukayo Saka and Harry Kane's first goal in Qatar helped eliminate Senegal and set up a difficult quarter-final against world champions France.

England have not won an international trophy since lifting the 1966 FIFA World Cup on home soil, and will be hoping to go one step further than their Euro 2020 final loss to Italy.

The job is not done yet, but that did not stop the Three Lions from celebrating a major win and progressing to the next stage of the competition.

England make time for fun

England camp their players at the Souq Al-Wakra Qatar Hotel by Tivoli, 10 miles south of the capital city of Doha. They train at the Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Stadium, as revealed by Sky Sports.

The Three Lions returned to the hotel to triumphant scenes, as players celebrated and danced while passing through a crowd of overjoyed fans and hotel staff.

As revealed in the video and pictures published on Twitter by the England team's official account, manager Gareth Southgate and captain Harry Kane, as well as Phil Foden and Declan Rice, were pictured in the crowd.

The English fans back home also took part in the celebration, as they look forward to bringing it 'home' this year.

Rice wants respect for England

Sports Brief earlier reported that England midfielder Rice called for more respect for the Three Lions, after headlines focused more on Senegal rather than the winning team.

Rice claimed if the win was by Brazil, France or the Netherlands, the news would be about their tactical masterclass, whereas the focal point against England is the other side of the game.

The Three Lions will want to prove a point with their quarter-final tie against France, as to why they deserve more respect - and Rice was sure to point this out to the media.
