A Uruguay football star is facing a possible ban, for elbowing a FIFA official and attacking a referee during the ongoing World Cup in Qatar.
The incident is understood to have happened during Uruguay's final Group H match against Ghana last Friday, December 2.
At the time, the South Americans were controversially eliminated from the group stages despite their 2-0 win over Ghana.
Uruguay needed a victory of a greater goal margin against the Black Stars, and also hoped Portugal would drop points against South Korea.

But that was not the case, with the Tigers of Asia recording a stunning win over the Selecao and denying Uruguay a chance to progress.
Uruguay vs Ghana marred by chaos
Uruguay's clash with Ghana was characterised by ugly scenes, said to have been sparked by controversial refereeing decisions.
Several La Celeste stars were left angry after referee Daniel Siebert failed to award them a late penalty, after Edinson Cavani was fouled inside the box.
Upon learning they were out of the tournament on goal difference, Jose Gimenez and his teammates confronted the referee as he left the pitch at full-time.
While others just ranted, Gimenez could be seen getting physical as he elbowed a FIFA official in the back of the head.
The Mirror UK reports that the Atletico Madrid star's conduct could land him in hot soup.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 27-year-old could face a lengthy ban if his post-match meltdown is reported to FIFA.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Luis Suarez broke down in uncontrollable tears, as Uruguay suffered elimination despite beating Ghana 2-0 in their final group game.
