Argentina captain Lionel Messi is widely considered the best dribbler in the world, but he is surprisingly missing from the top 10 in Qatar.

However, Messi’s international colleague Angel Di Maria has picked up the mantle of dribble king, as per Planet Football.

The former Paris Saint-Germain winger has currently recorded seven dribbles from the first two group-stage games.

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele is second on the list. The Frenchman has been on sensational form for Didier Deschamps' side, and successfully completed six of the 12 dribbles he’s attempted in Qatar.

Dembele's fellow teammate at Barcelona, Robert Lewandowski is seventh, while Bayern Munich duo Jamal Musiala and Alphonso are placed third and fourth respectively.

Ajax Amsterdam superstar Mohammed Kudus is Ghana's brightest spark and has successfully registered 62% dribbles.

Qatar set unwanted record

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that 2022 World Cup hosts Qatar set an unwanted record at the tournament, after a disappointing campaign in the group stages.

Qatar earned automatic qualification for the 2022 edition of the tournament as they were hosting the competition, with the Félix Sánchez-tutored side pooled in Group A alongside Senegal, the Netherlands and Ecuador.

According to ESPN, Qatar have become the first World Cup host nation to lose all of their group stage fixtures.
