One of the most outstanding moments during the England-Wales game on Tuesday, November 29 was a hilarious attempted shot by Harry Maguire.

Maguire, despite his woes for Manchester United, always seems to turn up whenever he is playing for England under Gareth Southgate.

Against the USA, Maguire was responsible for a brilliant piece of play, as he briefly turned into prime Zidane with some dribbles in opposition territory.

England went into the game against the Dragons knowing a victory would be enough to see them finish top of their group. But the first half of that clash was extremely drab, with both sides failing to get going.

Not only was the first half extremely slow in terms of play from both teams, but the most eye-catching piece of play also came from Maguire’s shot after another unprecedented run.

In a video going viral on social media, the Manchester United centre back decides to take matters into his own hands as he embarked on an attack.

Once at the edge of the penalty area, he unleashed a cross which ended up going hopelessly wide on the other side.

And of course, fans jumped on that incident with hilarious banter:

“He went like Prime Messi just to end up like Lukaku,” one fan joked.
“Classic Harry Maguire ...let him gain his confidence,” another added.
“I choked on my drink when I saw that,” said another fan.
“No one understood him. That was a cross.”

England secure top spot

As far as the game, England eventually took the lead early in the second half thanks to a brilliant Marcus Rashford free kick.

Phil Foden doubled the lead moments later, to ensure the Three Lions top their group to set up a round-of-16 clash against Senegal.

Why Bukayo Saka has torn socks

Sports Brief also reported on Arsenal talisman Bukayo Saka donning torn socks, which has been causing a stir online.

The youngster was first spotted wearing holey socks during England's World Cup opener against Iran. The forward's peculiar habit has been leaving fans in confusion, with many wondering the reason behind it.

It has now emerged that holes in socks help players to avoid injury to their bulging calves while in action as the holes allow the tension in legs to be released.
