Aguero's response

Retired striker and close friend to Messi, Aguero hit back at Canelo's threats by giving insights into what goes on in a dressing room, in a tweet that was translated as follows:

"Mr. Canelo, don't look for excuses or problems; surely you don't know about soccer and what happens in a locker room. The shirts are always on the floor after the games are over due to sweat and then if you see well, he makes the movement to remove the boot and accidentally hits it."

The former Manchester City and Barcelona striker was replying to Canelo's tweet, which had an expletive in reference to Messi's actions.

Mexico are still mathematically in the competition, but will need nothing less than a win against Saudi Arabia. Argentina meanwhile will face Poland, knowing that victory could guarantee them the top spot.
