A fan watching Saudi Arabia versus Poland at the 2022 World Cup has gone viral on social media after he quickly got rid of his Saudi shirt and revealed Robert Lewandowski's shirt

Poland secured their first win of the tournament with a hard-fought 2-0 win over an aggressive Saudi side that gave them plenty to think about.

Robert Lewandowski was on the scoresheet for Polan, scoring his first-ever World Cup goal. The Barcelona striker was reduced to tears after he pounced on a mistake from a Saudi Arabia defender to slot in an easy finish.

Piotr Zieliński scored Poland's first goal in the first half before Salem AlDawsari missed a penalty for Saudi Arabi on the stroke of halftime.

The Middle Eastern country put pressure on the Europeans for most of the second half but were unable to find an equaliser.

In the 82nd minute, Lewandowski was presented with a golden opportunity by Abdulelah Al-Malki to seal the deal, and he did not miss.

Fan switches side

When Lewandowski's goal went in, a fan wearing a Saudi Arabia jersey changed to the Lewandowski shirt under the Saudi one, according to Givemesport.

The fan started to scream Lewandowski's name leaving most fans around him in stitches. The video has since gone viral on social media.

Lewandowski's new milestone

Sports Brief earlier reported on Lewandowski being moved to tears after he scored his first World Cup goal.

The Barcelona striker played in the 2018 tournament but failed to score as his country went out in the group stage.

The 34-year-old has now equalled the goal tally of Pele, who has 92 caps for Brazil to enter the top 10 list of men’s international goalscorers.
